What is the Menopause Health Assessment?

Our Menopause Health Assessment is a comprehensive 40-minute consultation specifically designed for women experiencing perimenopause or menopause symptoms. This thorough assessment includes:

•    Detailed evaluation of your menopausal symptoms and how they're affecting your life
•    Review of your medical history and risk factors
•    Discussion of your health goals and treatment preferences
•    Assessment of bone health, cardiovascular health, and other age-related concerns
•    Comprehensive treatment plan that may include lifestyle modifications, nutritional guidance, hormone therapy options, or other interventions
•    Information about what to expect during your menopausal transition
This assessment provides a solid foundation for managing your menopause journey with confidence and support.

3

Do you provide hormone replacement therapy (HRT)?

Dr Martinez can discuss hormone therapy options as part of your treatment plan. The decision about whether HRT is right for you depends on many factors, including:

  • Your symptoms and their impact on your quality of life

  • Your personal and family medical history

  • Your preferences and concerns

  • Current research and evidence

We take an individualised approach, explaining the benefits and risks so you can make an informed decision. Hormone therapy is just one option—we also explore lifestyle modifications, nutritional support, and other evidence-based treatments that can help manage symptoms.

4

I'm experiencing menopausal symptoms but not sure if I need treatment. Should I book an appointment?

Yes! Even if you're uncertain about treatment, a consultation can be incredibly valuable. Many women find that understanding what's happening in their bodies and knowing their options provides peace of mind. During your appointment, we can:

  • Confirm whether your symptoms are related to hormonal changes

  • Discuss the full range of treatment options, from lifestyle modifications to medical interventions

  • Answer your questions without pressure to proceed with any particular treatment

  • Provide guidance on symptom management you can implement straight away

You don't need to be suffering significantly to seek support—proactive care can help you navigate this transition more smoothly.

5

Can you help with hormonal issues outside of menopause?

Absolutely. Dr Martinez addresses a wide range of hormonal concerns affecting women at all life stages, including:

  • Irregular or heavy periods

  • Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD)

  • Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)

  • Thyroid disorders

  • Fatigue and low energy related to hormonal imbalances

  • Mood changes and hormonal anxiety

  • Weight management challenges related to hormonal shifts

We take a comprehensive approach, looking at how hormones interact with your overall health, lifestyle, and wellbeing.

6

How do your women's health services integrate with your other treatments?

RegenWise's integrative approach means we can combine women's health care with our regenerative therapies when beneficial. For example:

  • Nutrition therapy: Working with Justine to support hormonal balance through anti-inflammatory eating patterns

  • IV therapy: Targeted nutritional support for energy, mood, and hormonal health

  • Pain management: Addressing musculoskeletal pain that can be affected by hormonal changes, particularly during menopause

We coordinate care across all our services to provide comprehensive support tailored to your needs.

7

Do I need a referral to see Dr Martinez for women's health concerns?

No referral is needed. You can book directly with us for women's health consultations, menopause assessments, or any general health concerns. Simply call us or book online through our website.

8

How often should I have women's health check-ups?

The frequency depends on your individual circumstances:

  • Menopause management: Initially every 3–6 months to establish your treatment plan, then as needed for monitoring and adjustments

  • Preventative care: Annual check-ups are generally recommended for women over 40, or more frequently if you have specific health concerns

  • Active treatment: Follow-up appointments are tailored to your treatment plan and response

Dr Martinez will discuss the recommended schedule during your initial consultation based on your needs.

9

What should I bring to my first women's health appointment?

To make the most of your consultation, consider bringing:

  • A list of your current medications and supplements

  • Any recent test results or medical reports

  • A symptom diary if you've been tracking patterns (particularly helpful for hormonal concerns)

  • Questions or concerns you'd like to discuss

  • Your Medicare card and concession card if applicable

If you're tracking your menstrual cycle or symptoms, this information can be very helpful but isn't essential.

10

Are women's health consultations covered by Medicare?

Yes, women's health consultations are eligible for Medicare rebates. The out-of-pocket cost varies depending on the consultation type and length. Our Menopause Health Assessment is a comprehensive 40-minute appointment with specific Medicare rebates.

You can view detailed pricing information on our Medical Fees page, which shows full fees, Medicare rebates, and out-of-pocket costs for all consultation types, including concession rates where applicable.

11

I'm feeling overwhelmed by my symptoms. How quickly can I be seen?

We understand that hormonal symptoms can significantly impact your quality of life. Since we've opened our new clinic, we no longer have waiting lists. Call us to discuss your concerns and we'll schedule an appointment as soon as possible. If you're experiencing severe symptoms, please mention this when booking so we can prioritise your care.

12

Is women's health care only for older women?

Not at all! Women's health encompasses all life stages. While we have particular expertise in menopause care, we also support younger women with:

  • Hormonal imbalances

  • Period concerns

  • Fertility support

  • Preventative health care

  • Health optimisation for active lifestyles

  • Managing health through major life transitions

No matter your age, if you have women's health concerns, we're here to help.
